This fabulous coat was made in the 1930s from a textured blue wool crepe. The coat was cut in a stunning early wartime silhouette with strong padded shoulders that have also been gathered for a gentle puff. The high neckline featured a stunning grey astrakhan trim in a very angular Art Deco design. Three fabric covered buttons fasten the coat at the neck between the two astrakhan trim lines and there is a tie fitting at the side of the waist that allows you to cinch it in for a fitted shape. The skirt flows freely in a gentle fit and flare silhouette with beautiful swishy movement. Inside, the coat is lined in satin with a winterised interlining and has inside waist ties for an even better fit.

Waist: 30” ties down to 24”

Shoulders: 13 3/4” seam to seam 

Shoulder to waist tie: 15”

Length: 41 1/2”

The coat is in good condition, however there are a few small holes as pictured (we decided to leave them undated as it might highlight them). There is also some slight fraying at the outside belt attachment and one of the buttons and the lining shows some unevenness of colour.
