Gorgeous Original 1940s Volup Vintage Green Plaid Belt Back Princess Coat
This stunning coat was made in the 1940s from thick wool in a wonderful green and brown plaid pattern. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist that has been accentuated with a beautiful back belt. The sharp notched lapel collar leads to six green buttons that fasten the coat in a double breasted configuration. Functional slit pockets at the hip add a practical element and three large inverted pleats at the back of the skirt give beautiful swish and movement to the coat. Inside, the coat is lined in brown satin and has what appears to be a model number tag.

The coat is in very good condition externally with only a few tiny nibbles but there is some damage to the lining that would benefit from reinforcing.
