This wonderful coat was made in the late 1930s / early 1940s from rich black crepe. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The collarless neckline further emphasises the strong shoulders and creates a flattering V neckline that runs to the waist where two beautiful statement buttons fasten the coat. The skirt has been gored to give it wonderful structure and movement and inside, the coat is lined in sumptuous black satin.

The coat is in good condition with only a few small holes and frays and some wear to the lining as pictured.
