Fabulous Original 1940s Vintage Black Velvet Femme Fatale Princess Coat
This amazing coat was made in the 1940s from sumptuous black velvet. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The small collar leads to ten fabric covered buttons arranged in a double breasted configuration fasten the coat at the front. Large pockets at the hips add a practical feature and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. The skirt falls in wonderful voluminous pleats and inside, the coat is lined in rich black satin with a maker’s label for The Dayton Company Sun-Deb Shop.

The coat is in very good condition with only a few minor areas of wear and discolouration as pictured.
