This stunning coat was made from soft black wool in the late 1920s / early 1930s. It was cut in the classic loosely fitting silhouette that exemplifies the period. The notched lapel collar leads to three hook closures which fasten the coat in a wrap over style. Small slit pockets add the waist add a practical element. However, the real design statement is at the back of the coat, where five large inverted pleats run from the shoulders to the hips and emphasise the wonderful bulbous shape of the coat. Inside, the coat is lined in luxurious black satin and has a maker’s label for Bromley.
