Exquisite Original 1940s Vintage Femme Fatale Black Fit And Flare Princess Coat
This incredible coat was made in the 1940s from soft black wool. The coat was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with strong padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The collarless neckline further emphasises the super strong shoulders and clever darting shapes the coat to the wearer’s body. Princess seams at the back tailor the coat perfectly to the wearer’s shape and the skirt falls in beautiful pleats that give it great movement and swish. The coat fastens with two stunning gold centred buttons at the waist as well as a single button at the neck. Inside, the coat is lined in black crepe with a wool interlining and has a maker’s label for Gotham, a retailer’s label for Russeks of Fifth Avenue and a National Recovery Board tag.
