Exquisite Original 1920s Volup Vintage Black Fringed Flapper Evening Coat
This exceptional coat was made in the 1920s from black crepe and satin. It was cut in the classic loose fitting silhouette of the flapper era with a beautiful asymmetrical wrap over style. Large kimono style sleeves add real drama to the piece which is further enhanced with the long statement fringing that moved beautifully. Matching fringing adorns the hem of the crepe section of the coat and sets off the satin section below perfectly. A small satin collar and large sharp satin shoulder details continue the shining on matt theme and add interest to the shoulder area. A large cream and black carved art deco button fastens the coat at the waist and there is an internal velvet tie to ensure it hangs just right.
The coat is intended to be loose fitting. We have shown below the maximum measurements, but this piece would look equally wonderful on significantly smaller sizing. The images show the coat unpinned on our 32” bust mannequin.
