Elegant Original 1940s Vintage Black Swing Coat With Soutache Shoulders And Statement Buttons
This wonderful coat was made from black wool gabardine in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic wartime silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a loose swing fit below. The edges of the collar have been topstitched for a lovely detail and the shoulders feature exquisite soutache embroidery. Two stunning metal centred buttons fasten the coat at the front and smaller buttons adorn the sleeve cuffs. Functional slit pockets at the waist add a practical element and inside, the coat is lined in black crepe. Whilst this is intended to be a swing coat, it would look equally stunning worn with a belt to cinch in the waist for a more fitted silhouette.

The coat y u s in very good condition with only one mark externally and some areas of wear and seam splitting to the lining as pictured.
