This fabulous coat was made in the 1940s from sumptuous red wool. It be was cut in the classic swing coat silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a loose fit below. The sharp collar leads to a single row of four red and pink buttons that fasten the coat at the front. Discreet slit pockets add a practical feature and large turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. Inside, the coat is lined in rayon and has a National Recovery Board tag.
