Beautiful Original 1970s Does 1940s Classic Black Princess Coat With Oversized Collar By Joseph Magnin

This beautiful coat was made in the 1970s from a classic black wool blend. It was cut in the fit and flare silhouette that emulates the style of the late 1940s with a gently fitted waist and a flared skirt. A fabulous oversized collar emphasises the structured shoulders and adds a wonderful design detail. Five large buttons fasten the coat at the front and functional slit pockets add a practical feature. Huge turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves perfectly and inside, the coat is lined in sumptuous satin. There is a maker’s label for Jackie Stuart Junior, a retailer’s label for Joseph Magnin as well as a Union tag and wool mark fabric content label.

The coat is in good condition with only a few areas of external wear and a red faded spot at the back as pictured. The spot has been enhanced to show it in the condition photos, please refer to the picture of the back of the coat to see how much less noticeable it is in normal light. There is some wear and splitting to the lining, but this is not visible when worn.
