This stunning dress was made in the late 1940s / early 1950s from green and white striped cotton. It was cut in a flattering pinafore style with a bodice that is open at the sides. The small sweetheart neckline adds a gorgeous detail and the bodice fastens at the back with five buttons. The wide waistband is striped horizontally and creates a natural divide in the dress, focussing the eye on the nipped waist. Hundreds of tiny pleats emanate from the waistband and create a wonderfully full skirt with beautiful swish. Huge patch pockets adorn the front of the skirt and add a practical yet beautiful detail.
