This fabulous Mexican tourist jacket was made from turquoise felted wool in the 1950s. It was cut in the classic open fronted silhouettes that is common for tourist jackets of this period. The jacket has been embroidered throughout with brightly coloured wool images of people, flora and fauna as well as traditional motives. The collar, a packet, sleeve cuffs and patch pockets have been finished off with crisscross edge stitching in burgundy and yellow. The jacket is unlined and has a maker’s label for Presidente.

The jacket is in good condition, however, there is some slight yellowing to the fabric and a few pinholes as pictured.
