This fabulous Mexican tourist jacket was made from rich red felted wool in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic open fronted silhouettes that is common for tourist jackets of this period. The jacket has been embroidered throughout with brightly coloured wool images of people, flora and fauna as well as traditional motives. The collar, plackets, sleeve cuffs and patch pockets have been finished off with crisscross edge stitching to add a wonderful detail. The jacket is unlined and has a maker’s label for Lopez.
