This incredible bag was made in the late 1940s and the entire bag has been adorned with flexible plastic cord on top of a fabric canvas. The cord comes in shades of brown and white to create a wonderful geometric pattern on both sides. A solid oval base has also been covered in brown flexible cord, with great attention to detail. A strap attaches to large gold to bed rings on each side and the bag closes with a clever hidden bending metal frame at the top. Inside, there is a small mirror pocket as well as a larger compartment lined in rayon. This is an iconic item of vintage fashion history and a superb addition to any period wardrobe. 

 

Size: 11” wide, 7” tall without handle, 14” including handle and 3” deep

 

 

The bag is in very good condition, however there are a few small breaks in the cord as pictured and the stitching on one side of the mirror pocket has come loose.
