Super Rare Original 1940s Volup Vintage Navy Blue Gabardine Princess Coat With Cape Collar
This stunning coat was made in the 1940s from French navy blue rayon faille. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The neckline has been adorned with an integral cape, which adds a rare and beautiful design detail to the piece. Five buttons fasten the coat at the front and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves. Gorgeous dart work nips in the waist and opens up into flattering pleats in the skirt. Inside, the coat is lined in rayon faille and does not have any maker’s labels.

The coat is in very good condition with only some slight marks to the fabric where the buttons were moved at some point. There are also a few tiny seam pops and a small hole as pictured.
