This fabulous hat was made from black woven buckram in the late 1930s / early 1940s. It has a wide brim and an unusual asymmetric crown that lends itself to wearing the hat at a jaunty angle. A wide black Petersham ribbon decorates the crown and inside, there is a thinner hat band with the maker’s label for Modes Valdeiron of Toulouse. 

As the hat perches on the wearer’s head, it is suitable for a variety of head sizes. 


The hat is in very good condition with no issues to note.
