This fabulous hat was made in the 1950s from pleated buckram in shades of white, grey and black. It perches loosely on the wearer’s head and will require pinning in place. It fits closely on one side of the head and due to its internal stiffened structure will create a brim that stands proud in the other side. A decorative black passementerie and tassel flourish adds an eye catching feature. Inside, there is a Petersham hat band and elastic to hold the hat in place.
Due to the perching design, this hat is suitable for a variety of head sizes.
The hat is in very good condition with only a small mark on the underside as pictured.
