This incredible hat was made in the 1930s from natural pleated straw. It was fashioned as a sun hat with a small crown and a wide brim and is intended to perch on the wearer’s head and be pinned in place. A wide navy blue Petersham ribbon decorates the brim and finished in a large bow and matching blue accents have been dyed into the brim. Inside, there is a muslin hat band and the crown is lined in paper.
As the hat perches on the wearer’s head, it is suitable for a variety of head sizes.
The hat is in very good condition with no issues to note.
