Stunning Original 1950s Vintage Striped Lilli Ann Designer Blazer With Beautiful Peplum
This stunning blazer was made in the 1950s from a fine quality black and grey striped wool. Like many of the early 1950s Lilli Ann garments, this piece is more reminiscent of the strongly tailored suiting of the 1940s. The shape defining padded shoulders and nipped waist helps to create that classic fitted look Lilli Ann are famous for. The point of the v-neckline marks the beginning of a double line of fabric covered spherical buttons and the striped textile has been cleverly used to highlight the neckline, sleeve cuffs and hem. The sculptural padded peplum highlights the garment’s shape giving true emphasis to the wearer’s waist and hips. Inside, the blazer is lined in grey crepe and has a maker’s label for Lilli Ann, a retailer’s mark for Stuart of Milwaukee and a National Recovery Board tag.

The jacket is in very good condition with only a few very minor exterior flaws as well as some light discolouration and repairs to the lining as pictured.

This garment is available to purchase with or without dress shields. These clever little contraptions have been made by our seamstress to an original 1940s pattern and can be simply attached to your garment by tack stitching at the corners of the underarm seam, pinning (we wouldn’t recommend that, it hurts if it goes wrong, so if you try this, it is at your own risk only) or inserting tiny poppers. They then stand ready to absorb any sweat and body odours as needed and you can simply detach and launder them instead of your garment, saving you a fortune in dry cleaning bills.
They are equally suitable for suits, blazers and dresses and come in pure white cotton.
They are universally sized and super easy to use even for a sewing novice as only a couple of tiny stitches are required at each side to secure them.
