Fabulous Original 1940s Vintage White And Burgundy Striped Satin Belted Jacket
This fabulous jacket was made in the 1940s from off white rayon with satin sections with black, burgundy and grey stripes. This piece was likely the top to a lounge or pyjama set but would look great worn with simple back or burgundy slacks as a casual jacket. It has structured padded shoulders which give it that strong 1940s silhouette. The notched lapel collar leads to a single row of five burgundy buttons which fasten the jacket and a fabric tie belt cinches in the waist. Large horizontally striped patch pockets add a practical yet stylish detail and the turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. Inside, the jacket is unlined and has a maker’s label for Kermess.

The jacket is in fair condition, however there are a number of faint marks and frays as well as some slight discolouration and a seam split under the arms as pictured.
