Fabulous Original Late 1940s Vintage Tan Hooded Ski Sportwear Coat By Fairway
This stunning coat was made from tan coloured waxed cotton in the late 1940s. It was cut in a classic sportswear silhouette of the period with a straight cut that can be pulled in at the waist with a drawstring tie to create a more fitted shape. The coat fastens with a long metal zipper at the fro t and a bar closure fits across the collar to close the garment at the neck. The large detachable hood has been lined in red and green tartan wool, trimmed with sumptuous fur and tightens with a drawstring. Large functional utility pockets adorn the bodice and hips and add a practical element. Inside, the coat is lined in soft red wool flannel and has a maker’s label for Fairway Utility Wear.
