Beautiful Original 1940s Vintage Asymmetric Black Pierced Lace Dress
This stunning dress was made in the 1940s from black pierced lace in a broiderie anglais style. It was cut in the classic form fitting hourglass silhouette of the period with a nipped waist that is further cinched in with the attached fabric belt that fastens with a hook at the waist. This is not an ordinary little black dress, the pierced floral lace allows the wearer’s skin to show through and the unusual asymmetrical curved placket with eight large fabric covered buttons adds a wonderful sculptural design element. Gathering at the bust and hips adds further shaping and movement to the dress and the full length sleeves give it beautiful balance. The dress fastens with an original metal side zipper and is unlined inside.

The dress is in very good condition with only one missing cuff button and two tiny snags as pictured.
