Stunning Original Vintage Late 1920s 20s / Early 1930s 30s Gold Sequin And Lamé Evening Bag
This exquisite bag was made in the late 1920s / early 1930s from hundreds of sparkly gold sequins sewn onto gold lamé fabric. It was cut as a rectangular pouch with an oval vase and an exposed zigzag lamé panel through which gold cord has been threaded allowing it to be pulled together into a classic moneybag shape. This gold bullion cord can be used to hold the bag and has been adorned with lamé tabs at the ends. Inside, the bag is lined in cream satin and has a small inner pocket, perhaps for a mirror.
Size: 15cm wide x 19cm tall (12 1/2” below draw string)
The bag is in good condition with only a small amount of sequin loss and some slight wear to the lamé in the zigzag section as pictured. There is also a small mark inside the lining that is not visible on the outside.
