This stunning suit was made from a lightweight linen blend in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The suit comes in a wonderfully cheery lemon yellow, perfect for spring and summer. The notched lapel collar leads to a single row of four large mother of pearl buttons that fasten the blazer. a decorative fabric corsage in shades of pink, yellow, blue and green has been pinned to the bust but could easily be detached. Decorative pocket flaps adorn the functional pockets and beautiful darting highlight the fitted waist and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. Inside, the blazer is lined in rayon with original attached dress shields and has a maker’s label for L Bamberger & Co of Newark. The matching skirt was cut in a gentle A line and fastens with an original metal side zipper and button closure above.
