This fabulous coat was made from black wool crepe in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic strong shouldered 1940s silhouette and the strong padded shoulder line is even further enhanced by the collarless cut. A large triangular overlap label runs from each shoulder down to the waist where it forms a functional pocket. The coat fastens with three large carved buttons and a popper at the neck and large turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves beautifully. Inside, the coat is lined in sumptuous black satin and has a maker’s label for Strawbridge and Clothier of Philadelphia.

The coat is in very good condition with two faint marks as pictured (much less noticeable in natural light).
