This gorgeous kimono was made in the 1950s from a creamy blush rayon crepe with a beautiful coral floral and foliage pattern. Some areas of the pattern have been highlighted with stunning gold embroidery and there is an embroidered maker’s mark as pictured. The sleeves have been cut in a beautiful wide kimono style with openings at the elbow. The inside is lined in luxurious cream silk and the kimono has no fastenings. This would look gorgeous worn belted as a robe or open as a casual yet dramatic coat.

The sizing on this piece is very flexible due to the open nature of it so one size will fit most.

Bust with edges meeting: 48”

Length: 59”

The kimono is in good condition, however there are several areas with bright pink lines. These seem to largely originate from the centre of the flowers like stamen but are also present in other areas of the garment such as the collar. We are not sure whether they are part of the original design, a later addition or marks of some kind (the latter appears unlikely looking at the centre of the flowers, so we think it is part of the design). There is also an area of faint discolouration near the hem as pictured, possible from water marking, but this is not very noticeable.
