This fabulous blouse was made in the late 1940s / early 1950s from loosely woven cotton in a beautiful teal meets turquoise shade. The blouse was cut in a light and loose fitting silhouette with a small shawl collar and cuffed short sleeves. This would look stunning either worn as is or tucked into trousers or a skirt. Inside, the garment has the Aertex maker’s label, which attests to its suitability for summer wear. Aertex is a British clothing company established in 1888 who developed a proprietary fabric that traps air between the warp and the weft of a loosely woven cotton, making it wonderfully cool to wear on a hot day. During WW2 Aertex supplied shirts for all the jungle and desert land forces as well as the woman’s land army and reportedly Aertex shirts were even worn by Princess Elizabeth shortly after the war.

Bust: 42”

Waist: 40”

Length: 23 1/2”

The blouse is in good condition with only a couple of very faint marks as pictured. There is some period overlocking time a few of the seams.
