Original 1940s 40s Vintage Brown Celanese Rayon Suit by Handmacher
This gorgeous suit was made from a brown Celanese rayon in the 1940s. It is cut in a classic 1940s silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The small pointed collar marks the beginning of a row of eleven stunning fabric covered buttons used to fasten the jacket. Clever panel work and darting to both the front and the back of the jacket helps to further emphasise the fitted shape. Inside, the jacket is unlined and bears the maker’s label for Weathervane by Handmacher. The skirt is cut in an A-line shape and fastens with an original metal side zipper and button closure above. It also has the Handmacher maker’s label.

The suit is in very good condition with only some very slight underarm discolouration and a couple of fabric pulls as pictured.
