Fabulous Original Volup Vintage 1940s 40s Red Gabardine Suit By Van Houten
This wonderful skirt suit was made from a red gabardine in the 1940s. The suit has been cut in a classic hourglass silhouette synonymous with the decade. This shape is achieved with a nipped waist and strong padded shoulders. A shallow v-neckline has been highlighted with a rounded notched collar. A line of four round fabric covered buttons with circular centres run down the centre of the blazer and there are decorative pocket flaps with notched centres at the waist. Inside, the jacket is lined with red crepe and has a maker’s label for Van Houten. The matching skirt has side vents and fastens with an original metal side zipper and a top button closure.

The suit is in good condition, however there are a few faint marks as pictured as well as some wear to the skirt vent and one of the fabric covered buttons.
