This gorgeous hat was made from brown wool felt in the 1940s. It was fashioned in the style of a small brimmed tilt hat that is worn at a jaunty angle on the head, supported by the wide fabric strap that sits on the back of the head. The edge of the crown has been adorned with three large felt and velvet flowers at the front and original ceiling that can be worn over the face or tucked up. Inside, there is a rayon headband but no maker’s labels.
As the hat perches loosely on the wearer’s head, it is suitable for a variety of head sizes.
The hat is in very good condition with only two small breaks in the veil as pictured.
