Original 1940s 40s Brown Slubbed Silk Skirt Suit With Velvet Collar And Belt Back By Duchess Royal

This stunning skirt suit was made from brown slubbed silk in the late 1940s. The v-neckline is beautifully framed with a black velvet collar and chesterfield lapel. Five fabric covered buttons run down the centre of the jacket whilst two patch pockets can be found at the waist. The padded shoulders? and nipped waist give this suit a classic 1940s silhouette. This silhouette is further highlighted by the belt to the rear of the jacket which introduces pleats and a flattering back peplum. Inside, the jacket is lined in acetate and has maker’s labels for Duchess Royal and a silk fabric label.
