This stunning coat was made from a sumptuous blue wool in the 1950s. It was cut in the classic fit and flare silhouette of the period with padded shoulders, a tightly nipped waist and a flared skirt. The collar has been adorned with black velvet and gorgeous top stitched detailing and leads to a flattering V neckline. Three buttons fasten the coat at the front and the skirt section has been stiffened to fall in large beautiful pleats ubiquitous of Dior’s iconic New Look silhouette. Inside, the coat is lined in acetate with a wool interlining and bears the maker’s label for Rothschild of Philadelphia.

Length: 36” plus 2” hem
The coat is in very good condition with only a few tiny pinholes and some slight discolouration to the underarm lining as pictured. There is also a further pinhole in the skirt folds that’s not photographed.
