RESERVED FOR ATIZ - Fabulous Original 1930s Vintage Equestrian Riding Jacket With Puff Sleeves And Soutache Bustle
This wonderful jacket was made from light brown wool crepe in the 1930s. It was cut in the classic style of a riding jacket with a fitted waist and spacious hip area to allow for movement. The sleeves have been strongly gathered at the shoulder to add volume in a silhouette that is reminiscent of the leg of mutton sleeves of the Victorian era. The thin collar creates an elegant V neckline that leads to the three gold tone knit buttons that fasten the blazer. The hem of the jacket separates into panels to give room for movement and create a flattering bustle back. Each of these panels has been edged with wonderful soutache embroidery to highlight the clever construction and this soutache work was also used to create a feature twisted robe design on the back of the jacket. Inside, the blazer is lined in rayon and does not have any maker’s labels.

The blazer is in fair condition, however there are a number of marks and flaws, most of which have been pictured. The buttons are modern replacements and have been moved at some point to make the jacket tighter and could be moved back out, however there may be indentations from the previous stitching.
