Stunning Original 1940s 40s Volup Vintage Navy Blue Dress With Embroidered Flowers

This gorgeous dress was made from a navy blue lightweight rayon blend in the 1940s. The fabric has been delicately embroidered with a floral spray pattern in shades of pastel pink, green and yellow. A single line of gathered shirring on each shoulder makes the fabric fall in beautiful folds along the bodice. The small standup collar leads fastens with a hook and a decorative tie at the neck and leads to a long placket running down past the waist seam. The amazing large kimono style sleeves add a real feature to the dress. The dress slides on over the head and has no openings, however, if desired, the placket could be opened up and hooks inserted for easier access.

The dress is in good condition, however there are some small snags in the fabric as pictured. The placket would have been adorned with decorative buttons which have been removed and have left behind holes where they were sewn on. I would add the buttons back on for an additional detail.
