Stunning Original Vintage 1940s 40s Burgundy Wine Swing Coat With Fox Fur Collar By Shagmoor
This stunning coat was made from burgundy wool in the late 1940s. It is cut in a classic swing coat style which hangs in a loose shape from the wearer’s shoulders. It hangs with beautiful volume and swing at the back. The collar is adorned with a large fluffy fox fur giving the coat a luxurious feel. A single line of three buttons fastens the coat at the front and slit waist pockets add functionality to the piece. Inside, the coat is lined in burgundy satin and has a maker’s label for Shagmoor, a retailer’s label for Kaufmann’s and the National Recovery Board tag.

The coat is in very good condition with only some slight surface moth grazes (we have pictured some examples) as well as a pinhole to the lining. There is also a small area to the fur collar where the stitches used to attach it are visible.
