Original Vintage 1940s 40s Volup Fuchsia Pink Swing Coat With Button Details By Shillito Co
This stunning coat was made from fuchsia pink wool in the 1940s. It was cut in a classic swing coat style with strong padded shoulders and a loose fit elsewhere. The coat fastens with a single fabric covered button at the high neckline and the collar is decorated with grey astrakhan fur. Matching fabric covered buttons decorate the sleeves which have also been adorned with strong geometric seam work. Small slit pockets add a practical feature to the coat and there is strong geometric seam work at the back. Inside, the coat is lined in pink crepe with a warm wool interlining and has a retailer’s label for The John Shillito Co. of Cincinnati.

The coat is in good condition, however there are some moth grazes and pinholes as pictured as well as a mark to the lining. One of the cuff buttons is missing but this could be replaced with the button at the neck.
