This fabulous coat was made from satin backed rayon faille in the late 1920s. It is cut in a classic loosely fitting 1920s style with an asymmetrical fastening using three buttons and loops on the wearer’s left side. Inside, there is a tie at the waist for optimal fit. The notched collar and turn up cuffs have been highlighted with satin accents using the reverse side of the main fabric. The back of the coat had been intricately darted to highlight the waist, giving a strong nod to the 1930s styling that is to come.

Shoulders: 15 1/2” seam to seam 

Length: 41” plus 1” hem

 

The coat is in good condition, however there are a number of nibbles and fabric pulls as well as a couple of pinholes as pictured.
