Original 1940s 40s Vintage Red Lightweight Wool Coat With Black Velvet Dagger Collar

This splendid coat was made from a good quality lightweight red wool in the 1940s. The coat has strong padded shoulders and a square cut giving it a classic 1940s silhouette. The coat elegantly combines a v-neckline with a wide notched dagger collar accented with black velvet. Contrasting cream seams are used to highlight the collar as well as the functional waist pockets, shoulders and back of the coat. The coat closes with a single row of three red buttons at the front and there is a large buttoned vent at the back. Inside, the garment is lined in a red satin.

The coat is in very good condition, however it has a few small stains as pictured, the lining is coming loose at the rear vent and the velvet collar has been repaired at some point.
