This beautiful coat was made in the late 1950s from a deep forest green wool. It was cut in a classic hourglass silhouette with padded shoulder and a nipped waist that can be further cinched in with the original fabric tie belt. This can be worn tied on the outside or (very cleverly) there is an opening on each side seam to feed it through the back between the outer fabric and the lining, giving a belted silhouette at the front whilst maintaining a fabulous swing back. The coat features a classic wrap over design and a large collar adorned with faux astrakhan fur which appears to be detachable. There are small slit pockets at the waist and the inside is lined in acetate.
Sizing is somewhat flexible due to the wrap over design.
Bust: 42” max to maintain comfortable amount of overlap but could easily be overlapped further as shown on the mannequin or less for a little more room
Waist: free (approx 36” max) but adjustable with the belt
Shoulders: 16 1/4” seam to seam
Length: 40 1/2”
The coat is in very good condition with only a few extremely minor flaws as pictured. The lining has some discolouration and holes near the hem.
