This stunning blazer was made made from bright green gabardine in the 1940s. It was cut in the classic hourglass silhouette of the period with padded shoulders and a nipped waist. Clever seam work has been used along the shoulders and bodice to add interest and the back features a western style shoulder seam. The beautiful scalloped collar detail has been mirrored in the scalloped faux pocket flaps and decorative running stitch detailing finishes off all of the garment’s edges. The jacket fastens with three fabric covered buttons at the front, is lined in crepe and has a maker’s label for Bedell.

The blazer is in very good condition with only a few minuscule grazes as pictured and the stitching on the Bedell label coming loose. The topmost button is missing but this would rarely be used anyway.
