RESERVED FOR SARA - PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE - LAYAWAY PAYMENT 4 OF 4 due 2nd January 2024
This exquisite coat was made in the 1940s from chocolate brown wool. It was cut in the classic fit and flare style of the period with padded shoulders, a nipped waist and a flared skirt. The notched lapel collar leads to a single row of four bronze coloured buttons that fasten the coat at the front and two matching buttons adorn the stunning back belt. Semicircular seam detailing and clever darting expertly tailor the garment to fit tightly to the wearer’s curves. At the back beautiful pleat work runs from the bodice all the way to the hem of the coat creating lovely movement. Two large pocket flaps adorn either side of the hip (the top pocket of each us functional) and turn up cuffs finish off the sleeves perfectly. Inside, the coat is lined in brown crepe and has a maker’s label for Elgora as well as the highly collectible double elevens British utility label.
