Original 1930s 30s Vintage Navy Blue Cloche Hat

This beautiful hat was made from navy blue felt in the 1930s. It is fashioned in a classic cloche style with a deep crown and a small brim. The outside of the crown is decorated with a bi-coloured grosgrain ribbon in navy and cream. Inside, there is a maker’s label for Marjorie Somerset of New Bond Street London. Several examples of her hats were worn by Her Royal Majesty Queen Mary in the 1940s and are on display at the V&A Museum. 

Size: 20 3/4” but fits tightly on size 21”

The hat is in fair condition with some nibbles to the edge of the brim, some pinholes to the crown and wear to the hat ribbon as pictured. The crown and brim have been tacked with cream thread and need to be attached properly and the label also needs to be reattached.
