This gorgeous skirt suit was made from navy blue wool gabardine in the 1940s. It is cut in a classic 1940s hourglass silhouette with strong padded shoulders and a nipped waist. The notched lapel collar leads to a row of four thespian themed buttons depicting Venetian masks. Inside, the jacket is lined in navy faille and has a maker’s label for Gilbert Original. The skirt is knife pleated giving it wonderful flow and movement and closes with an original metal side zipper and hooks above.
